Dr. Bibian, NeuroWave’s VP of Engineering and Clinical Research, to give a plenary talk at the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS)

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio (August, 2013) - NeuroWave Systems Inc. is proud to announce that Dr. Stéphane Bibian, NeuroWave’s VP of Engineering and Clinical Research, was invited to give a plenary talk at the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS), Aug 18-21, Fort Lauderdale, FL, which is the premier scientific meeting to address the unique medical needs of the warfighter and military medical care.

Dr. Bibian presented NeuroWave’s vision for Automated Total Intravenous Anesthesia for combat casualty care. He also presented important scientific evidence showing that it is possible to prove the stability of a closed-loop controller for automated anesthesia delivery. This can be done through a mathematical framework that quantifies the drug effect variability in patients, using their cortical activity as a non-invasive measure of anesthetic effect. Such evidence is important for supporting the safety of such system for use in patients and for fulfilling regulatory requirements for such medical devices.

Dr. Bibian also expressed NeuroWave’s gratitude to the US Army Medical Research and Material Command, who is generously funding NeuroWave's development of the AutoTIVA system for automated closed-loop delivery of anesthesia in combat casualties.
